About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to expectant mothers and their families during this life-changing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned patients in the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families, developing individualized care plans and providing family-centered education
  • Identify and correct variances from patient care plans, facilitating discharge planning and teaching
  • Administer medications accurately and document patient responses to interventions
  • Provide psychological and social support to patients and families, promoting a positive and supportive environment

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
