Job Title: IT Systems Administrator

Merola Tile Distributors of America is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless functionality of our in-house systems, including ERP databases, Microsoft 365 suite, EDI platforms, CCTV system, WMS software, web filter, active directory, printing network, ticketing system, and other critical IT assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for a diverse range of in-house systems, ensuring seamless functionality and resolving technical issues across departments.
  • Collaborate with department heads to assess workflow inefficiencies and identify opportunities for AI integration, leading cross-functional teams in the successful implementation of AI-driven solutions to optimize processes and enhance productivity company-wide.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including server rack configuration, patching new cables/ports, managing firewall, web filter, creating new connections for phone/network, crimping ethernet cables, monitoring network performance, defining network policies, and upholding security measures.
  • Lead and drive strategic operational projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and integration of business systems.
  • Handle escalated and high-level support tickets, providing expert problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues efficiently. Assist L1 and L2 with incoming support requests.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of the company network to ensure robust connectivity and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) support teams to facilitate knowledge sharing, improve service delivery, and support the rollout of key projects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of projects, from initial planning through to successful implementation, adhering to industry best practices and achieving predefined objectives.
  • Maintain inventory, including updated counts of hardware, ordering new hardware/software according to needs, keeping the server room clean, organizing server rack cabling, labeling hardware with host name, and reviewing other department IT-related purchase requests.
  • Spearhead initiatives in warehouse automation, implementing solutions that increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput in logistics operations.
  • Create and maintain IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for common IT tasks, updating previous SOPs with leadership guidance.
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications, pushing updates to all servers, monitoring server performance, and inspecting server rack integrity.
  • Assist with training and development of Junior IT Systems Administrator, ensuring the role has access to all appropriate tools, information, and training to best fulfill role and responsibilities.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Previous System Administrator experience of 2-4 years.
  • Networking and cabling experience.
  • Network and Server rack experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Skills:
  • MS SQL Database management experience preferred.
  • Ability to stay organized and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good analytical skills, able to solve problems, self-motivated, and able to work well with end-users and partners.
Physical Demands:
  • Walk considerable amounts on a daily basis.
  • Lift hardware up to 50lbs.
