Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join our team at Insight Global. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in virtualization platforms, system administration, and IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, upgrade, and patch virtualization systems, including VMware products (ESXi servers, HA clusters, Virtual Center).
  • Configure and maintain Ubuntu and Vsphere environments.
  • Monitor virtual machine alerts and take appropriate action to ensure seamless operations.
  • Administer Active Directory for user management and perform Windows and Linux server administration tasks.
  • Investigate root causes of problems and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain knowledge of AEGIS-EF online platform and document data center service levels.
  • Analyze system performance and troubleshoot production issues to ensure optimal system uptime.
  • Develop and implement best practices for IT operations and participate in security audits and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to provide excellent customer service and support.
  • Be available for on-call support and meetings, and travel to colo data centers as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in system administration, virtualization, and IT operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in product hardware and systems software, including SQL, Windows Active Directory, Ubuntu, and Windows Server vSphere.
  • Experience using Tanium to patch windows systems and third-party applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies (vCenter, vSphere, ESXi, vMotion, HA, vROPs).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Technical knowledge of HP and IBM hardware and software, particularly blade technology, IBM Director, HP SIM, HPE Oneview.
  • Knowledge of Windows scripting / programming skills, including PowerShell and Bash Scripting.
