Pharmacist Clinical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist Clinical Specialist to join our team at Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, Maryland. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical pharmacy services in the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities- Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, and cardiology.
- Provide guidance and support to clinical leadership and pharmacy staff on medication-related issues.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
- Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
- Provide patient counseling when required.
- Pharmacist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
- Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
- Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
