New York, New York, United States Reflex Robotics Full time
Company Overview

Reflex Robotics is a pioneering startup that aims to revolutionize manufacturing and logistics by developing affordable humanoid robots. Our mission is to automate dangerous and repetitive tasks, freeing humans to focus on more fulfilling work.

We're a two-year-old company backed by Khosla Ventures, with a projected revenue of $60m in 2024. Our robots are designed and built in-house by a team of experienced engineers who have worked on high-profile projects like the Stretch robot at Boston Dynamics and the Model S, X, Y production line at Tesla.

Our Approach

We've developed a unique approach to robotics that combines high-performance, low-inertia design with low-cost manufacturing. Our robots are equipped with a tele-operation system that allows remote operators to control them in real-time, increasing autonomy and reducing the risk of errors.

We believe that high-quality proprietary data is the key to building generational AI companies. Our robots are designed to collect valuable data that can be used to improve their performance and functionality over time.

Key Company Beliefs

We're guided by a set of core beliefs that shape our approach to robotics and AI:

  • Human prosperity increases super-linearly with increased automation.
  • Freedom from dull and repetitive tasks allows us to focus on more rewarding pursuits.
  • An insane work ethic is necessary for outsized success.
The Role

We're seeking a skilled controls engineer to join our team. As a controls engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for our robots. You'll work closely with our engineering team to develop and refine our robots' motion control systems, ensuring they're safe, efficient, and effective.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in control systems, robotics, and mechatronics. You should have experience with C++ and Python programming languages, as well as a good understanding of model predictive control, nonlinear optimization, and sensor fusion strategies.

We offer a unique opportunity to join a pioneering startup at a time when our company is de-risked enough to see the hazy outlines of success, but not so large that there's no remaining upside. You'll have the chance to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the development of our robots.
