Position Summary: The Web Press Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of T230 and T240 Web Press machinery. This role requires conducting quality assessments and performing various tasks as needed, depending on workload and delivery timelines. The technician must consistently produce high-quality output in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with supervisors daily to discuss schedules, job progress, and tasks.
  • Interpret job tickets and accurately document production counts and times in the shop floor data system.
  • Set up and operate machinery:
  • Adjust machine calipers to ensure product quality.
  • Change and calibrate trimmer knives.
  • Inspect machine components and identify parts requiring replacement.
  • Maintain print registration, color consistency, inks, varnishes, and coatings.
  • Continuously monitor the quality of the final product.
  • Perform general maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the web press area.
  • Familiarize oneself with all aspects of the job finishing sheet.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE usage and chemical hazard awareness.
  • Maintain production records and charts.
  • Train new team members.
  • Guide machine crew during production and downtime.
  • Provide leadership as necessary.
  • Contribute to supervisor evaluations.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Web Press equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and color spectrometers preferred.
