Machine Operator Job Description

Wieland is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team in Kilgore, TX. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery, casting functions, and processing material while assisting with overall warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment
  • Set up, process, and maintain Turret Lathe equipment
  • Process rough castings from the foundry using machinery
  • Operate machinery safely to ensure quality product
  • Inspect material before and after operation for imperfections
  • Load and unload product from machinery for processing
  • Operate and handle melting/holding equipment
  • Perform quality inspections, including visual
  • Assemble, rebuild, setup, maintain, and operate equipment
  • Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracy
  • Report product discrepancies to management
  • Perform all applicable SOP's, JSA's, and QAP's
  • Actively communicate with teammates
  • Operate forklifts to move material
  • Other Operations tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries (preferred)
  • Experience in foundry/casting industry (preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and offer assistance to teammates when necessary
  • Ability to work occasional Saturday hours as required by the position
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to read dimensioned engineering drawings
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers
