Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Surgical ICU team at Queen's Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating clinical care and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health literacy and self-management.
  • Manage patient flow and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Physical Demands

The Registered Nurse in this role will be required to:

  • Stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the shift.
  • Use manual dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasionally lift and move patients, equipment, and supplies.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions

The Registered Nurse in this role will work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with exposure to:

  • Body fluids, blood products, and communicable diseases.
  • High-stress situations and fast-paced workflows.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor environments and unpredictable patient behaviors.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current BLS/HCP card in all areas; ACLS, NALS, and/or PALS in designated areas.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
