About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Tech to join our team at HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients by meticulously cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, assemble, and test general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning.
  • Identify tray type by contents of instrument tray and identify malfunctioning instruments for replacement or repair.
  • Operate and maintain all sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and cart washers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all washing, sterilization, daily machine testing, and temperature, humidity, and air pressure records.
  • Prepare, assemble, and package all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
  • Prepare surgical sets, instruments, and trays according to prescribed procedures, ensuring all instrumentation is correct and accurate.
  • Pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepare case carts.
  • Audit trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, implant usage, and instrument count sheets, and track loaner equipment.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Certificate required.
