POSITION

The Environmental Services Associate is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of the facility's environment on a daily basis, adhering to established protocols and schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in housekeeping within a long-term care environment or similar institutional setting is advantageous
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Daily cleaning of assigned resident rooms and bathrooms as per facility guidelines
  • Ensure resident rooms and belongings are kept clean and organized, respecting the preferences of the residents
  • Daily cleaning of additional facility areas as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, which may include:
    • Restroom facilities
    • Administrative offices
    • Kitchen areas
    • Common areas
    • Activity spaces
    • Hallways and lobbies
    • Utility spaces
    • Nursing stations
    • Linen storage
  • Provide respectful and dignified service to all residents while performing duties in care areas
  • Maintain courteous and cooperative communication with all facility staff, residents, and visitors
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and procedures established by the department and facility
  • Store cleaning supplies securely in designated housekeeping carts or closets when not in use
  • Promptly notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of any maintenance needs
  • Carry out additional housekeeping tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor
  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with major cleaning tasks on a weekly and monthly basis when requested
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and disasters
  • Participate in required in-service training and staff meetings
