Speech Language Pathologist

About the Role

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Sentara Healthcare, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of our patients by assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitative programs to address speech, swallowing, language, voice, and fluency disorders. You will provide age-appropriate education to clients and caregivers, and supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by team members.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
- Provide education and training to clients and caregivers on effective communication strategies and techniques
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
- Supervise and mentor staff members to ensure high-quality care

Requirements

- Master's degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program
- Certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- 1 year of experience in speech-language pathology
