About This Opportunity:

The Developmental Specialist Residential is a vital role at Monarch, where you will support individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and dreams. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing person-centered support, promoting self-determination, and ensuring the rights and dignity of each individual are respected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each person's hopes, dreams, and desires, and provide tailored support to facilitate achievement.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, their families, and community members.
  • Support individuals in participating fully in their community, consistent with their interests and abilities.
  • Ensure the rights and dignity of each individual are protected and promoted at all times.
  • Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
  • Facilitate person-centered relationships using positive approaches that promote self-determination.
  • Contribute to assessment and planning processes, and develop individualized plans.
  • Implement plans, document progress, and complete required documentation.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation.
  • Drive and travel as required, and arrange transportation for individuals as needed.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and personal safety, and utilize effective judgment when dealing with safety issues.
  • Support new staff and current staff with orientation, mentoring, and training.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training as required, and maintain certification in agency, state, and federal training requirements.

Education and Experience:

We are seeking a Developmental Specialist Residential with a High School Diploma (Required) and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. A valid Driver's License (USA) is also required.
