The Developmental Specialist at Monarch is a vital role that involves supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and aspirations. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in helping people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each individual's hopes, dreams, and desires, and provide tailored support to facilitate their achievement.
  • Support people in developing meaningful relationships within their community and with their natural support networks.
  • Assist individuals in participating fully in their community, aligned with their interests and preferences.
  • Ensure the rights of each person are protected and promoted at all times, and provide support in developing advocacy skills and participating in advocacy efforts.
  • Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed, and facilitate positive relationships using person-centered approaches.
  • Contribute to assessment and planning processes, and implement individual plans within service definition requirements.
  • Accurately document progress, including goal completion, actions toward outcomes, incident reports, and timesheets.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation.
  • Drive and travel as required, and arrange transportation for individuals as needed.
  • Support new staff and current staff with orientation, mentoring, and training.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training as required, and maintain certification in agency, state, and federal training requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • Valid USA Driver's License
  • Developmental and Intellectual Disability Experience
