Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Assistant - Pediatrics to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examination and treatment, taking and recording vital signs as needed.
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms, selecting and setting up medical supplies and equipment.
- Administer injections, apply splints and dressings, and facilitate simple wound management under provider orders.
- Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- Transport specimens and assist with scheduling patients for tests and appointments.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information, including entry of data into electronic medical records.
- Provide phone screening of patients to appropriate clinical staff and/or physicians.
- Collaborate with various personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Accredited Program Medical Assistant (Required) or Accredited Program Medical Office Assistant that allows caregiver to sit for the MOA certification exam will be considered.
- Basic Life Support (Required Upon Hire)
- State of Washington Medical Assistant – certified licensure (required)
- State of Washington Medical Assistant – Interim Certified credential accepted. Caregiver must obtain Medical Assistant- Certified (Non-Interim) credential within 12 months of date of issuance of interim credential by the State of Washington
Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
