Position Overview

Aegis Worldwide is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support operations in the food and beverage packaging sector. This role involves working the 3rd shift on a rotating schedule, where the technician will operate independently during night hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the efficient functioning of the facility by addressing electrical failures swiftly and conducting routine maintenance.
  • Engage in various projects, including cabinet rebuilding and other essential cabinet work.
  • Participate in training initiatives and support return projects.
  • Handle equipment upgrades, including motor switch-outs and drive enhancements.
  • Create and maintain 1-line electrical drawings.
  • Work with diverse machinery, including thermoforming lines, extruders, forming machines, and auxiliary equipment.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial setting.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment up to 480V.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and their components.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD), particularly ABB and Allen-Bradley.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of electrical controls, including relay controllers and heaters.
  • Proficient with AC and DC motors and drives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Electrical License is highly desirable.
  • Experience with thermoforming machinery.
  • Skills in maintaining and calibrating industrial instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with European printing and labeling machinery.
  • Background in automation systems.
  • Demonstrated proactive maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of advanced hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
