Your responsibilities will include editing existing technical documentation and assisting in the preparation of various materials.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, demonstrate initiative, and be capable of swiftly adapting to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Essential Qualifications:

Technical Expertise

Applicants should have a comprehensive understanding of English grammar and punctuation, along with substantial experience in technical editing and writing.

Proven ability to assess technical documents to determine the necessary level and depth of editing based on factors such as length, complexity, structure, and deadlines is required.

Experience in performing various levels of editing, from basic proofreading to substantive editing on specialized technical documents, is essential. Candidates must also be able to learn and grasp new technical concepts and terminology.


Communication Proficiency

Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication, problem-solving abilities, and strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.


Project Management and Client Relations

Applicants must have the capability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, deliverables and deadlines in a high-pressure environment where priorities frequently change.

Effective collaboration within a team and with a diverse range of technical personnel and managers is crucial.


Maintaining professional and courteous interactions with team members, technical staff, and a variety of managers is essential.

Technical Tools

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat at a medium to advanced level is required. A solid understanding of Word styles and templates, as well as PowerPoint-specific formatting, is also necessary.


Educational Background and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in communications, English, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Industry Familiarity

Experience with highly technical documents and procedures is advantageous.

Familiarity with large, complex institutions or companies, as well as experience in multi-agency technical programs, is desirable.

Experience in managing sensitive and classified documents and communications would be beneficial.
