Position Overview:

The Lead Financial Strategist plays a crucial role in our organization, serving as a key partner in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This position is responsible for delivering insightful analysis and recommendations that support strategic decision-making at the executive level. The Lead Financial Strategist will oversee the preparation and execution of comprehensive financial reporting packages, budgeting, forecasting, and various project-based analyses. Given the time-sensitive nature of these tasks, the role demands a high degree of professionalism, effective communication, and meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with financial tools and technologies such as Workday Adaptive, Snowflake/SQL, PowerBI, and Alteryx is advantageous. The ideal candidate will exhibit entrepreneurial spirit, reliability, and a strong grasp of financial methodologies. This role will involve collaboration with senior leadership across various divisions, focusing on the development of financial strategies, analysis of operational results, and providing meaningful insights into organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Strategy Development: Collaborate with FP&A leadership and stakeholders to create and manage financial budgets and forecasts that drive organizational success.
  • P&L Analysis: Assist in the monthly review of Profit and Loss statements, providing insights into variances, trends, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
  • Financial Evaluation: Conduct in-depth financial analyses, including cost/benefit assessments and ROI calculations, to support growth initiatives.
  • Market Understanding: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape, identifying key issues, strategies, risks, and opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effectively communicate and partner with various teams across the organization to develop insightful forecasting and reporting.
  • Innovative Thinking: Bring creative approaches to financial analysis, exploring new metrics and performance indicators to identify trends.
  • System Implementation Support: Assist in the rollout of new planning systems, ensuring that FP&A needs are met and processes are refined.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide analytical support for various reporting projects, including decision-making metrics and analytics.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Proficient understanding of financial accounting and reporting principles; experience in a public company or multi-unit industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, with advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with ERP and planning software such as JDA, Workday Adaptive, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on active listening and presentation abilities.
