Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Composite Lamination Technician to join our team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. This role involves working with various types of composite materials, including prepregs and core materials, to build complex contoured molds according to blueprints and manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams to determine the required materials and processes.
  • Prepare and assemble composite materials, including cutting, laminating, and curing, to meet specifications.
  • Examine products for defects and perform required tests to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Record information on production records, logs, and reports, and prepare reports as required.
  • Perform re-work and repairs as necessary, and provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent and seven or more years of related experience.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate, read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, detailed blueprints, and other similar authorized drawings and documents.
  • Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and common shop tools, and familiarity with respirator certification.
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment, work extended hours as required, and lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a loud environment with a variety of epoxy agents, and may require respirator certification. The ability to work extended hours as required and lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs is also necessary.

Clearance Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required for this role.
