Job Title: School Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Nurse to join our team at the DeKalb County School District. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our students.

Job Summary:

The School Nurse will provide direct care to students, including administering medications, giving intramuscular injections, performing respiratory assessments, and assisting with emergency needs. You will also monitor and assess student health on a regular basis, maintain accurate health records, and conduct regular health screenings such as vision and hearing tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to students, including administering medications and performing respiratory assessments
  • Monitor and assess student health on a regular basis
  • Maintain accurate health records
  • Conduct regular health screenings such as vision and hearing tests
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers to promote student health and create a safe school environment
  • Provide health education to students, staff members, parents, and guardians on topics such as hand hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and other preventive practices
Requirements:
  • Grade 11- Licensed Practical Nursing or equivalent education/training required
  • Grade 12- Registered Nurse or equivalent education/training or is required
  • Minimum one (1) year registered nurse, practical nursing or closely related experience is required
