Position Overview:
The City of North Miami is seeking a skilled Automotive Fleet Technician to join our team. This role involves the repair and maintenance of a diverse range of vehicles including passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks, and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various makes and models of vehicles.
- Perform skilled mechanical repairs at a journeyman level.
- Work independently on intermediate phases of repair tasks as directed by a technical supervisor.
- Overhaul and repair light and heavy motorized equipment including chassis units, brake systems, transmissions, and axles.

Tools and Equipment:
- Utilize automotive diagnostic machines and a variety of hand and pneumatic tools.
- Operate within the City Motor Pool environment.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma along with completion of an approved automotive/truck mechanic apprenticeship program.
- Significant experience in motor vehicle equipment repair.
- Valid Florida commercial driver's license 'Class B' or higher is required.

Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of engine and chassis systems and repair practices.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve repair issues.
- Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in addressing mechanical challenges.
- Physical capability to perform job duties.
