Job Summary

The Accessibility Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring equal access to education for students with disabilities at Loyola University Chicago. This position requires a strong understanding of disability laws and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and interpret disability documentation to determine eligibility for accommodations
  • Develop and implement individualized accommodation plans for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion in academic programs
  • Provide training and support to students, faculty, and staff on disability-related issues
  • Manage and coordinate accommodated testing operations and proctoring
  • Serve as a liaison to campus partners and other university departments
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in services for students with disabilities
  • Knowledge of disability laws and regulations, including ADA, FERPA, and Section 504
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
