As a key member of our maintenance team, you will provide journeyman-level support to accomplish maintenance, repair, and overhaul of shipboard propulsion and power generation gas turbine engines and associated support equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Disassemble, inspect, repair, overhaul, reassemble, and test gas turbine engines and associated equipment, including GE LM2500 and LM2500 Plus, Rolls Royce 501-K17, 501-K34, KB5, and 250, and Honeywell TF-40B.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment, hydraulic presses, drill presses, and other shop equipment to accomplish maintenance tasks.
- Perform ship-checks, validate equipment condition, and define required corrective actions.
- Assess feasibility of accomplishment of work by I-level Production shops and complete assigned work packages in a timely manner.
- Attend and participate in production meetings to provide the status of gas turbine maintenance actions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of work-related experience.
- Minimum 6 years of specialized experience assessing and executing marine gas turbine repair requirements.
- Understanding of modifying and repairing shipboard systems, equipment, and components, associated marine gas turbine operations.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills to interface with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts.
- Basic computer operations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security Clearance.
- Prior satisfactory completion of Navy gas turbine schools.
- Current MGTI credentials.
- Understanding of drawings, technical manuals, and related data resources, including Naval Ships Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and Technical Data Management Information System (TDMIS).
- Knowledgeable in Navy QA and Planning procedures.
- Knowledgeable in Navy Quality assurance practices and JFMM chapters relating to gas turbine maintenance.
The pay range for this role is $23.31 to $32.30 hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Work Environment- Office environment, shipboard, waterfront, and shops.
- Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight.
