The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in acquiring commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, semi-custom solutions, and tailored hardware and software. The Specialist will oversee delivery timelines, risk management, quality assurance, and cost efficiency to align with both corporate and client objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant company policies and governmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to finalize source selection and procurements that fulfill program specifications, including schedule, cost, and quality; identify and recommend additional sources as necessary.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and terms in each Purchase Order.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships using advanced purchasing strategies.
  • Review justifications for single and sole sourcing, ensuring adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor and process procurement transactions, ensuring accurate payment terms and compliance with organizational procedures.
  • Communicate promptly with vendors regarding delivery, quality, or pricing issues and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Accurately enter and update order information in the procurement system, ensuring completeness and clarity of company requirements.
  • Track outstanding lead times to meet project schedules.
  • Conduct regular Purchase Order reconciliations.
  • Work with internal teams to assess future procurement needs and identify new supplier sources.
  • Inform suppliers of any rejections and associated costs due to defective materials.
  • Facilitate expedited deliveries and obtain necessary approvals for alternative procurement methods when required.
  • Support various operational efforts including Planning, Shipping & Receiving, and Inventory management.
  • Stay informed about changes in pricing, procedures, or restrictions that may affect purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain organized procurement documentation.
  • Conduct evaluations of suppliers.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies in material quality or quantity with suppliers.
  • Update reports to track supply chain performance metrics.
  • Ensure timely delivery of procurements to designated sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience in a technical role, with a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in procurement for federal contracts.
  • Experience in placing both domestic and international Purchase Orders/Subcontracts of moderate complexity and managing high-volume procurement across multiple business units.
  • Familiarity with sourcing from foreign suppliers and handling procurements subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations.
  • Ability to manage multiple independent programs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Capability to interpret technical requirements and drawings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CPSR compliance and audit support.
  • Proficiency in Costpoint 8.0 Procurement Planning, Purchasing, and Material Management Modules.
  • Knowledge of DoD procurement processes and FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Understanding of parts, materials, and processes required for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Awareness of cross-functional roles (Accounting, Contracts, Program Management) essential for effective supply chain management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
