Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement pharmacotherapeutic regimens and provide counseling to patients, utilizing pharmacology, pathophysiology, pharmacokinetics, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy and drug information services to hospital staff, collaborating with physicians to ensure effective pharmacotherapy.
  • Compound, package, and dispense medications and IV solutions and preparations as ordered, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, providing guidance and support to ensure proper training and job performance.
  • Act as a resource to students of various health disciplines, promoting education and professional growth.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional growth to meet hospital, departmental, and personal goals.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure effective pharmacotherapy and patient care.
  • Ensure patients are knowledgeable about new medications and the side effects of all medications they are taking.
  • Perform provider and patient education in a manner that is service-oriented and consistent with Trinity Health values.
  • Participate in community outreach and education, promoting the mission and values of Trinity Health.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Pharmacy and licensure to practice in the State of Michigan.
  • Advanced degrees (i.e., Doctor of Pharmacy) and residency training preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact appropriately and effectively with patients, family members, healthcare team members, and the public.
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe manner, adhering to policies and procedures in the delivery of patient care.
  • Ability to identify patient care concerns and problems outside scope of responsibility and initiate appropriate corrective action.
