Job Summary

This role supports production by safely maintaining equipment to produce high-quality products. The successful candidate will assist with diagnosing and repairing manufacturing equipment issues, perform routine maintenance tasks, and work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow good manufacturing practices, personal protective equipment requirements, and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with changing motors, pulleys, gear boxes, and belting.
  • Perform basic mechanical adjustments, such as tensioning drive belts, conveyor belts, tracking belts, and chains.
  • Assist with replacing automated equipment mechanical components.
  • Perform simple plumbing repairs, such as unclogging drains, replacing faucets, and toilet repairs.
  • Replace slicer, cutter, dicer blade assemblies and perform necessary adjustments.
  • Work safely around moving equipment and conveyors in a wet environment.
  • Handle blade housing.
  • Lock out/Tag out equipment as necessary.
  • Safely operate shop equipment, such as power tools.
  • Comply with SQF Regulatory Programs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintaining a safe work environment and practicing safe lifting techniques.
  • Assist with troubleshooting simple mechanical systems and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Read and complete work orders and paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold environment.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Chain drive sprocket and gearbox knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning and degreasing techniques.
  • Reading, writing, and speaking English preferred.
  • Safety guidelines, understanding efficiencies, and downtime.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be cross-trained, and multitask in multiple positions.
  • At least 0-1 year of experience and basic mechanical skills.
  • GED/High School Diploma preferred.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a cold environment, using ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, and being exposed to extreme cold for extended periods. The associate will frequently work in high, precarious places and be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
