Job Summary

The primary purpose of this job is to ensure effective and profitable operations of the meat department through sales maximization and team member growth. You'll be responsible for receiving deliveries, breaking down loads, and rotating the cooler. You'll also weigh, price, and label products, stock cases, prepare valued-added products, and provide exemplary customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive deliveries, break down loads, and rotate the cooler.
  • Weigh, price, and label products.
  • Stock cases and prepare valued-added products.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and product knowledge.
  • Manage inventory, order products, and control labor costs.
  • Write schedules, manage and train team members, and encourage positive team member morale.
  • Meet sales, gross profit, shrink, and labor targets.
  • Reconcile invoices and execute weekly merchandising plans.
  • Conduct department walks and staff meetings, and ensure sanitation and food safety.
  • Process cuts for service counter or special orders.
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to read, communicate, and understand company policies and safety regulations.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements for this position.
  • Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job.
  • Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
Preferred Requirements
  • Serve Safe Certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Minimally 1-year relevant work experience.
