Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Service Emergency Program Specialist to join our team at the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing complex planning, research, consultative, technical, and program administration work to support the development and implementation of regional plans and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement local and regional plans and programs, including procedures for implementation and evaluation.
  • Provide consultative and technical services to other governmental agencies, community organizations, and the general public.
  • Establish program goals and objectives, develop program guidelines, and evaluate activities.
  • Work under general supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Travel to cities, counties, and agencies throughout the Panhandle to provide information and assistance.
  • Work with and speak to community and professional groups and the media regarding regional services programs.
  • Prepare grant applications and ensure grants are properly administered.
  • Develop and submit quarterly program reports to the Regional Services Director.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in public administration, regional planning, or a related field.
  • Or bachelor's degree in public administration, regional planning, or a related field, plus at least one year of experience in project management.
  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual.
