Position Title: Outside Sales Representative for Sprinkler Systems

The primary responsibility of this role is to secure new contracts for sprinkler system installations. The individual will be tasked with preparing bids for contract work, developing job schedules, coordinating the provision of necessary tools, overseeing project personnel, and monitoring labor efficiency. Additionally, the representative will act as the company’s liaison during job progress meetings and will initiate change orders as needed. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Sprinkler Contract Sales.

This role demands a proactive approach in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment, with a strong emphasis on sales, client prospecting, and customer service. Travel to client sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of wet-based fire systems and communicate findings to clients and service managers for necessary repairs.
  • Market and sell both new and refurbished sprinkler system services to a diverse clientele.
  • Acquire knowledge of local, state, and national fire safety regulations to identify compliance issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Perform customer assessments as needed.
  • Obtain all necessary licenses and certifications to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely execution of scheduled monthly client communications as directed by management.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to foster client retention.
  • Adhere to company protocols and complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Clearly define project requirements and expectations.
  • Develop job schedules and manage the logistics of tool delivery to project sites.
  • Supervise project personnel and track their productivity.
  • Participate in job progress meetings, initiate change orders, and manage contract billing processes.
  • Estimate remaining project costs for monthly reporting.
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Collaborate with clients to devise innovative solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Manage projects according to established guidelines to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain open communication with team members regarding project requirements.
  • Analyze job cost reports and take necessary actions based on findings.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from senior management.
  • Assist with collections as necessary.
  • Interpret architectural drawings to determine optimal sprinkler system placements for new and renovation projects.
  • Travel to client and job sites as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Vice President of Sprinkler Contract Sales.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.

  • In-depth knowledge of NFPA 13 standards is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
