About the Role

Xylem, a leading global water technology company, is seeking a skilled Pump Repair Mechanic to join our team. As a Pump Repair Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing Godwin pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rebuild diesel engines and pump ends
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing as directed on Godwin fleet equipment
  • Diagnose and repair damaged equipment
  • Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment
  • Troubleshoot diesel engine, electrical systems, and pump problems
  • Assist with system setup on customer job sites as needed
Requirements
  • Methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance
  • Diagnosing basic mechanical problems
  • General diesel engine repair
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills
  • General diesel engine component location and identification
  • Safety practices and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Possession of basic hand tools
  • Specific engine computer trouble-shooting program training (i.e., John Deere, CAT)
  • Personal Driver License (Commercial Driver's License preferred)
  • DOT Medical Card preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred but not necessary at time of hire
Work Environment

Mix of inside shop work and outside work with exposure to all weather conditions. Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and various materials.
