Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 nursing care and classroom assistance to a designated student in Lombard, IL.

Responsibilities
  • Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Administer medications and perform medical procedures as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with school policies.
  • Support Student Education: Assist in the classroom as needed, supporting the student's educational experience and working collaboratively with teaching staff.
  • Monitor and Manage Chronic Health Conditions: Maintain accurate and confidential medical records for the student, including documentation of care provided and any incidents that occur.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with the student's family, school staff, and healthcare providers to develop and implement a comprehensive health plan.
  • Promote a Safe and Healthy School Environment: Educate school staff and students on health-related topics and procedures to promote a safe and healthy school environment.
Requirements
  • Active RN License: Active RN License in the state of Illinois.
  • Illinois Paraeducator Certificate: Illinois Paraeducator Certificate (Para Cert).
  • Experience in a School Setting: Experience in a school setting or with pediatric patients preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Ability to Handle Medical Emergencies: Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Detail-Oriented: Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing medical records and care plans.
