Job Summary

S4 Inc. is seeking a skilled Electromagnetic Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Electromagnetic Effects Division.

We are looking for individuals to support important projects ensuring the operational capability of military forces and platforms. As part of our team, you will provide technical and engineering support, risk analysis, and integrated logistics for various initiatives, from legacy systems to emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Research and Development: Conduct research, development, test, engineering, and integration activities related to Navy RF sensors and systems.
  • EMI/EMC Testing and Analysis: Utilize knowledge in EMI/EMC testing, problem investigation, spectrum analysis, and EMI control and mitigation.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with teams to address Electromagnetic Environmental Effects challenges.
  • Analysis and Assessment: Analyze and assess EMI/EMC issues and propose solutions.
  • Programming and Data Analysis: Develop and implement MATLAB programs for data analysis and simulation.
  • RF Equipment Proficiency: Utilize RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers proficiently.
  • System Design and Testing: Contribute to the design, testing, and evaluation of topside systems focusing on EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with standards and regulations in all engineering activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an RF focus or Physics with an emphasis in EMI, Electric Field Propagation, and EMC.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in research, development, test, engineering, or integration of Navy RF sensors and systems.
  • Skills: Experience in E3, EMI/EMC testing, problem investigation, Spectrum, EMI/EMC analysis and assessment, EMI Control and Mitigation, MATLAB programming.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Proficiency in the use of RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Clearance: Secret Clearance required.
