About the Role

As a Butcher Apprentice at Whole Foods Market, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the art of butchery and contribute to the success of our meat department. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about natural foods, animal welfare, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of an experienced butcher, perform various tasks related to meat cutting, preparation, and merchandising to achieve sales goals and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and model suggestive selling techniques to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow established procedures, including food safety, weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, and ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.

Requirements

  • Possess a passion for natural foods, animal welfare, and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, enthusiasm for work, and a collaborative work ethic.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and deliver information in a clear and respectful manner.
  • Respect proper knife handling and other cutting equipment safety.
  • Be able to follow directions and procedures, and possess effective time management and organization skills.
