Astor & Sanders Corporation is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to analyze, identify, and document requirements based on business needs. The successful candidate will develop GIS maps and data layers, create technical specification documents, and conduct user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze business requirements and develop GIS maps and data layers
  • Develop technical specification documents for new mapping interfaces
  • Conduct user acceptance testing for new mapping interfaces
  • Create testing scripts and monitor user testing
  • Manage GIS data and metadata for quality control and develop standards
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Conservation, Ecology, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of GIS development experience using Esri's ArcGIS
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online data management and mapping
  • Knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL and PostGIS
  • Knowledge of R or R Shiny
  • Big Data and data modeling experience
  • Understanding of concise metadata writing and effective workflow reproducibility
  • Experience with spatial data management and manipulation
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good analytical skills and a creative self-starter
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Biological training or experience preferred
