Role Overview: As a Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless and effective functioning of our terminal operations. Your role will involve nurturing strong relationships with stakeholders, managing daily operational tasks, enhancing service quality, and promoting a cooperative atmosphere for ongoing growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance the terminal's reputation by consistently meeting commitments to customers, team members, drivers, and the organization.
- Oversee the daily activities of the team, ensuring compliance with performance standards and expectations.
- Proactively address service disruptions and uphold service quality benchmarks.
- Facilitate accurate and timely communication by updating systems with essential information.
- Evaluate terminal performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with staff, drivers, and clients.
- Establish clear communication pathways with dispatchers, drivers, clients, and senior management.
- Promptly identify, report, and resolve issues to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor terminal performance metrics against revenue, profit, and cost management goals, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) encompassing P&L, customer metrics, cost management, and timeliness.
- Ensure the accuracy of driver compensation as reported by dispatchers and align driver settlements with business objectives.
- Develop and implement driver retention strategies, analyzing settlement patterns and freight distribution fairness.
- Encourage a collaborative and communicative workplace to strengthen employee and driver relations.
- Manage client relationships and formulate strategies to effectively tackle challenges.
- Review daily operational plans against capacity, identifying necessary actions for business protection and growth.
- Respond swiftly and sensitively to service-related inquiries and customer feedback.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred), with a 4-year degree being advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Port/Rail Drayage Management and Port Dispatch.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, service quality, and cost management.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Previous experience in driver retention strategies and performance evaluation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in reporting and data management.
- Willingness to work on-call and potentially during weekends.
Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000. The actual base salary offered will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other legally permissible factors. Additionally, this role may qualify for performance-based incentives.
