As a Cardiac Imaging Specialist, your role will involve:

  • Setting up diagnostic equipment and expertly maneuvering transducers for cardiac examinations.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and executing quality control measures.
  • Conducting both routine and advanced imaging studies while assisting physicians during procedures.
  • Identifying anatomical structures, recognizing artifacts, and understanding pathology and equipment limitations.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and adjust all necessary equipment while skillfully maneuvering transducers for examinations.
  • Implement safety standards and perform essential quality control tasks.
  • Conduct both standard and complex imaging studies, assisting physicians as needed.
  • Recognize critical structures, artifacts, and equipment limitations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sonography or Vascular Technology, or completion of a cardiac ultrasound program (minimum of 18 months).

Certifications:

New hires are required to obtain the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential or the Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential within one year of employment. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers is also mandatory.


Work Experience:

Demonstrated expertise in m-mode, 2D and Doppler calculations, and cardiac hemodynamics is essential. Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to learn relevant software programs is required. Candidates should be graduates of a cardiac ultrasound program (minimum of 18 months) or possess two years of full-time echocardiography experience.


Physical Requirements:

This position necessitates standing and walking for extended periods and the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. The role also involves assisting with patient transport, including maneuvering beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.


Personal Protective Equipment:

Adherence to standard precautions and the use of personal protective equipment as required is essential.
