Role Overview:
As a Senior Structural Project Manager, you will operate independently while working closely under the guidance of the Engineer of Record for each project. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the structural team, ensuring effective execution of engineering and drafting tasks across multiple projects. You will be the main point of contact for project coordination, both within the structural team and with other disciplines such as architecture and MEP. Additionally, you will manage the project during the Construction Administration Phase, reviewing shop drawings, handling RFIs, and participating in site visits and meetings as necessary. This position offers significant opportunities for professional development and career progression within our dynamic firm.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Engage in coordination meetings with various disciplines and participate in design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and documentation processes to ensure timely completion of construction documents within budget constraints.
  • Draft and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine material requirements, and perform essential calculations for accurate design.
  • Review shop drawings, manage RFIs, and process change orders, integrating necessary adjustments into project documentation.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to convey design and coordination details to team members and produce comprehensive engineering reports and correspondence.
  • Conduct site observations during construction and prepare detailed reports based on findings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering license (P.E.); Structural Engineering license (S.E.) in your state is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering is required.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline project teams for at least three years is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of state building codes and relevant design codes such as ASCE, AISC, ACI, and others.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software and tools including ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, and Excel.
  • Expertise in designing with various structural materials including steel, concrete, and masonry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
