Job Summary:

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures at a technical level, ensuring the highest quality images for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care while performing CT and diagnostic imaging exams.
  • Inform and educate patients on the details and expectations of their procedure.
  • Maintain knowledge and competency to perform diagnostic exams on multi-slice CT scanners for all patient populations.
  • Facilitate patient flow, prioritizing patients as needed, including inpatients, emergency room patients, and urgent outpatients from doctors' offices.
  • Consistently produce diagnostic-quality radiographs using proper technical factors and patient positioning.
  • Complete all paperwork and patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and other departments to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to manufacturers' specifications and ALARA radiation guidelines.
  • Follow procedures for safe patient interactions and body mechanics.
  • Meet performance expectations for Customer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, and Staff and Self-Development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
  • Direction of others:
    • Responsible for orienting and assisting new staff and radiology students.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or G.E.D. required.
  • Formal radiologic technology training program in an A.M.A. approved school and meets requirements for registry by the ARRT.
  • One to two years of experience in a CT department preferred.
  • Previous radiographic experience required.
  • Current Connecticut State license in Radiologic Technology or obtain licensure as soon as they become registered.
  • ARRT RT and CT required.
  • BLS Required.
