Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will provide technical support to the drug distribution activities of the Department of Pharmacy Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions.
  • Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information.
  • Receive and stock incoming supplies.
  • May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.
  • May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP), and national certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is required and must be maintained.
  • 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician is required.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders.
  • Ability to reach in all directions.
  • Possess good finger dexterity.
  • Ability to fully use both legs.
  • Ability to fully use both hands/arms.
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to lift/lower objects 15 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted.
  • Ability to lift from 36 inches to overhead 15 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes.
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance.
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors.
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction.
  • Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment.
