Registered Nurse for Long Term Acute Care

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated travel nurse RN specializing in Long Term Acute Care for an exciting opportunity.
Position OverviewAs a vital member of the healthcare team, the Long Term Acute Care Nurse (RN) will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients requiring extended medical attention.
Key Responsibilities- Manage care for a patient load of 5-6 individuals.
- Adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Handle multiple admissions and discharges efficiently.
- Administer medications through various methods, including oral, subcutaneous, and IV.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and illness management.
- Monitor and operate specialized medical equipment, ensuring accurate recording and interpretation of electronic displays.
- Analyze telemetry readings and promptly notify the medical team of any irregularities.
- Perform all duties expected of a registered nurse consistently.
- Care for patients with complex conditions such as pulmonary hypertension, respiratory failure, and atrial fibrillation.
- Utilize computer systems to track cardiac and vital information.
- Initiate IVs, draw blood, and manage patient care from start to finish.
- Possession of an active RN license.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- A minimum of eighteen months of recent experience in a Long Term Acute Care environment.
- Proficiency in managing vents, trachs, drips, and EG tubes, along with the ability to interpret telemetry.
- Additional qualifications may be required by the healthcare facility.
