Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with obtaining vital information, preparing patients for examination, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
Demonstrate competence in clinical skills necessary to carry out assigned job duties, including drawing and collecting blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory analysis, and administering vaccines and medications.
Provide telephone triage, offering advice for home care of illness/conditions and conducting follow-up phone calls as necessary.
Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by healthcare providers.
Complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including CPT/ICD-9 coding.
Requirements:
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in the State of Illinois.
High School Diploma/GED required for complex CLIA lab work.
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
