Maintenance Technician Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in sustaining the operational success of our communities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing preventive and responsive maintenance on multifamily apartment buildings and occupied units.
  • Repairing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, appliances, and drywall issues.
  • Participating in cleaning and painting during unit turns.
  • Adjusting cabinet and swing doors.
  • Maintaining regular, professional, and courteous communication with Property Managers, Office Staff, and Residents.
  • Responding to emergency calls after hours and on weekends as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Caretaking of grounds, including snow removal.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • One year of related experience in maintenance.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, and painting procedures.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • A valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Experience with Yardi software is preferred.
Language Skills

You should be able to:

  • Communicate clearly in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Physical Requirements

The position requires:

  • Frequent lifting or moving of 20-70 pounds.
  • Often moving appliances and heavy machinery correctly and safely.
  • Frequent walking, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Maintaining equilibrium when working in high places.
Compensation

This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $28-$32 per hour.
