The Teacher II is accountable for designing and executing an early childhood education framework tailored for preschool-aged children, adhering to the established policies and protocols of the organization. This role emphasizes fostering school readiness, engaging parents, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children entrusted to our care. The Teacher II operates under the guidance of the Center Coordinator or Teacher III, ensuring that program activities align with the organization's objectives and desired outcomes. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively contributes to the execution of the High Scope curriculum, leveraging organizational resources and insights from subject matter experts.
- Guarantees that all classroom activities are developmentally suitable and significant to the educational growth of children.
- Monitors and organizes classroom experiences using data from COR Advantage, ensuring timely and thorough ongoing assessments of child development.
General Expectations:
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Possesses the capability to interpret and apply organizational policies and procedures.
- Maintains sound practices in child development, staying informed on current research.
- Exhibits effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Educational Requirements:
Candidates must be at least 21 years old. A minimum of a Child Development Associates certificate or equivalent is required (to be obtained within the first year of employment). A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood is necessary for the Teacher II and III positions. DOE 081 Certification (either provisional or permanent) is required for public school collaboration for Teacher III.
