Job Summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a skilled CDL Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating a ready-mix truck, promoting a culture of safety, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the operation, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan standards.
  • Operate ready-mix truck in accordance with federal, state, and Vulcan regulations, ensuring timely delivery of materials to job sites.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and accurately completing daily mobile equipment reports.
  • Document and record information, completing all necessary paperwork and forms to ensure organization and compliance.
  • Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform general physical activities, including cleaning the vehicle, inspecting loads, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid DOT physical or the ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing ready-mix trucks, with experience with Department of Transportation rules and regulations preferred.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours, with the ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
  • Customer focus, with the ability to take responsibility for customer relationships and represent Vulcan on job sites and while transporting product.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to safely operate and control equipment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is prescribed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement, with a starting salary of $29.40. Experienced candidates will be placed according to the union contract salary scale between $29.40 to $32.40. A full benefits package, including health insurance, a pension plan, and paid vacation, is also offered.
