Job Summary

This is a Material Handler III position at APL Logistics Americas. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing warehouse services, including loading, unloading, staging, and storage of customer products and materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Load picked orders or pull and load according to policies and procedures, completing appropriate paperwork, including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit, and Lot Verification.
  • Unloading, moving, stacking, and staging customer products and materials, both by hand and using forklift or other power equipment, keeping accurate records and reports.
  • Pulling Orders: Accurately locate and load customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves according to established procedures and safety regulations.
  • Operating and Maintenance: Assign/verify trailers to appropriate dock and/or yard location, trailers locked to dock-lock and/or chocking the wheels (if applicable), following all safety rules and Company policy.
  • Daily inspect and repair or make adjustments before operating tow-motor vehicles, following safety and maintenance instructions, completing the tow-motor inspection sheet at the beginning of each shift and/or assigned to another piece of equipment.
  • Prepare trailers prior to loading product by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.
  • Assist in building and grounds maintenance to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, neat, safe, and orderly manner.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent required.
  • Two (2) years forklift/tow motor experience required, including fork lift certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures.
  • Light data entry skills required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to operate forklift - both sit down and stand up, tow motor, motorized and non-motorized pallet jack; clamp, reach, and slip sheet.
  • Ability to write legibly.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use.
  • Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention.
  • Data entry skills.
  • Language skills - English.
  • Must be a Team Player.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner.

  • 1-2 years warehouse or related work experience preferred.
  • RF experienced preferred.

The hourly wage for this position is $21.65, plus shift differential.
