Job Purpose:

To operate forklifts safely and efficiently, ensuring the proper handling and storage of freight, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse area. This includes loading and unloading RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely and using proper procedures, as well as staging and loading shipments correctly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Warehouse Operations: Assist the Warehouse Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse, including maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Forklift Operations: Safely operate sit-down forklifts and/or walkie riders, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Store stock properly in the warehouse and move product into storage racks, ensuring accurate tracking and inventory control.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Load and unload RJW truck/trailers and outside carriers safely and efficiently, using proper procedures to ensure accurate staging and loading of shipments.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Regularly inspect and maintain forklifts, and report any accidents or incidents to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit-down forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Education: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). Warehousing certifications a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to inventory management, shipping, and receiving.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with warehouse staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Flexibility: Work 10-12 hour shifts when necessary, and be willing to adapt to changing warehouse conditions.
