Job Summary

We are offering an estimated salary of $42,000 - $52,000 per year for this part-time position (25 hours/week). As a Medical Specimen Processing Specialist, you will be responsible for verifying and matching information on requisitions and drawn specimens, entering accurate data into the computer system, and ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the process.

About the Role
  • Verify and match information on requisitions and drawn specimens received from various departments
  • Enter accurate data into the computer system, including patient information and test results
  • Adhere to departmental procedures for consistency and accuracy
  • Accession labels to all specimens and requisitions for tracking and test reporting
  • Spin related blood specimens in centrifuge before forwarding to the appropriate department
  • Troubleshoot problematic areas and notify department supervisor as needed
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's Degree in related field preferred
  • Knowledge of third-party billing, general laboratory procedures, and basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and typing skills
  • Ability to work in an organized manner and meet deadlines
