Position Overview
The Veterinarian plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch care to our patients while fostering strong relationships with their owners. This position involves conducting physical examinations, performing surgeries, and providing dental care, with a strong emphasis on client communication and education. At Seaside Veterinary Hospital, we treat every pet and client as part of our family.
Key Responsibilities
- Build rapport with clients to understand their needs; conduct thorough physical examinations and perform diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures with a focus on minimizing stress for the patient.
- Communicate examination findings and provide a clear diagnosis; develop and present treatment plans, and educate clients on preventive health care, including vaccinations and nutrition.
- Maintain accurate medical and surgical records, ensuring all logs are updated according to established protocols; collaborate with colleagues for ongoing patient management.
- Stay informed about advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in Continuing Education opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of the support team to ensure the highest quality of care and client service.
- Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and to the public.
- Treat every client with respect and every patient with the utmost care.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active licensure to practice in the relevant state.
- Professional demeanor and appearance, with strong interpersonal skills and a friendly attitude.
- Ability to make informed decisions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Respectful and willing to work collaboratively with clients and their pets.
- Compassionate team player dedicated to maintaining a strong reputation with clients.
- Commitment to practicing the highest standards of veterinary medicine and adhering to ethical guidelines.
- Experience in surgical procedures is advantageous.
