**Job Title:** Secondary Education Professional

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Secondary Education Professional to join our team at Strehle Community. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the mental, physical, emotional, and social growth of students assigned to their care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques to engage students and promote academic achievement.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives to improve student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, parents, and colleagues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate.
  • Certification in area of assignment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school setting, adhering to School Board energy policy.
  • May be required to work in outside areas subject to climate extremes.

Communication Skills:

  • Effective communication in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to accurately give and receive information via telecommunications system.
  • Ability to communicate successfully and pleasantly with students, parents, and school personnel.

Equipment Used:

  • Telephone, audio-visual equipment, classroom computer, copy machine, laminator, calculator, and other appropriate machines.

Physical Involvement:

  • Standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting 10 pounds as required.
  • Ability to operate classroom equipment.
  • Ability to physically transfer, restrain, or position special education students as required.

Mental Involvement:

  • Ability to plan and implement appropriate education programs for all students.
  • Ability to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to keep accurate, up-to-date written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to comply with state and parish regulations.
  • Ability to utilize effective classroom management techniques.

Human Relations Involvement:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Ability to respond positively to supervision and accept suggestions for improvement.
