The Department of Animal Services is seeking three dedicated Veterinary Technicians to contribute to the welfare of animals within the City's animal care facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A Veterinary Technician plays a crucial role in assisting Veterinarians by executing routine and specialized tasks related to the medical and surgical care of animals in the City's shelters. Responsibilities include performing euthanasia by injection and administering vaccinations under the supervision of a licensed Veterinarian, providing emergency medical assistance to injured animals, and engaging in related activities.
Veterinary Technicians must be prepared to work at any of the shelters across the City and may be required to work during weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certificate, issued by the State of California Veterinary Medical Board, is mandatory at the time of application.
COMPENSATION:
The starting annual salary is $54,496, with opportunities for annual step increases. Comprehensive medical and dental benefits are included.
