We are seeking a skilled Production Assembler I to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing project tasks and assignments of a basic nature, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Perform project tasks and assignments of a basic nature, including repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate assembly and production.
- Work with basic hand tools and equipment to assemble and produce electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
- Accurately complete process paperwork and enter data into the applicable work order management system.
- May perform mixing of epoxies per specification and work with chemicals without limitations, while adhering to prescribed PPE.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including PPE, chemical handling, and safety-related trainings.
- Able to focus on single tasks for extended periods of time.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Basic English language skills.
- Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working with small/delicate components.
- General communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Basic math knowledge.
- Ability to interpret basic documents and work instructions.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Regularly move throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Lift up to 45 pounds.
- Work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- Be willing to work outside of normal business hours as required.
