Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Assembler I to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for performing project tasks and assignments of a basic nature, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform project tasks and assignments of a basic nature, including repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate assembly and production.
  • Work with basic hand tools and equipment to assemble and produce electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Accurately complete process paperwork and enter data into the applicable work order management system.
  • May perform mixing of epoxies per specification and work with chemicals without limitations, while adhering to prescribed PPE.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, including PPE, chemical handling, and safety-related trainings.
Requirements
  • Able to focus on single tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Basic English language skills.
  • Strong hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable working with small/delicate components.
  • General communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Basic math knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret basic documents and work instructions.
Physical Demands

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Regularly move throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • Be willing to work outside of normal business hours as required.
